COVID Promise Launches an Initiative to Restore the Economy

COVID Promise™, a nonprofit start-up focused on COVID-19 related economic resilience and recovery launched today. COVID Promise is a grassroots movement founded by business leaders and concerned consumers who want to spread hope and optimism as the economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic worsens. During the shutdown, consumers and businesses make pledges to take specific actions to reignite the economy when the pandemic is under control and our economy and society reopen.

“There are a lot of anxious people out there right now. Just a few weeks ago, we had a thriving economy. Now, we’re frozen in place—frozen by fear and uncertainty,” said Aaron Poynton, COVID Promise founder. “Today, we’re focused on prevention—preventing this virus from spreading. I have no doubt that we will prevail over the virus," Aaron continued. “But, tomorrow will be here before you know it, and we need a plan to get back on our feet. Together, we will restore the economy and we will be stronger than ever.”

“As a small business owner, I was afraid to lose customers. But the economic impact of this crisis goes well beyond my company; all local business owners are concerned. Our businesses are our lives and our livelihood,” said Alex Fakeri, at MOJO Creative Digital. “This is why my team and I needed to get involved. We’re just not going to sit around and wait for a recovery. We’re going to make one happen.”

COVID Promise plans to expand its charter to include COVID Promise Fund to assist business with working capital issues, COVID Promise Advisors to help small business by connecting them with business advisors and experts for guidance, COVID Promise Life Continues to assist impacted workers with job replacement and skill development, and COVID Promise Advocacy to provide input to political leaders about how governments can best support the recovery.

COVID Promise has partnered with GVNG, a revolutionary technology platform that enables individuals and companies to start, run, and operate a 501(c)(3) nonprofit project.

Please join the movement by making your promise today at http://www.COVIDPromise.org and by #COVIDPromise and @COVIDPromise. Spread the promise, not the virus.
